Busting the Newbie Blues

I stumbled across this survey through the blog Small Review, which is focused on connecting us Newbie bloggers and to help us out.  What a great way to start out a new year and a new blog.  So here goes nothing.  =)

Questionnaires:

New Bloggers:

Pick this questionnaire if you if you feel you’re still getting your “blogging legs” and could use some advice and awareness brought to your blog, whether you’re a brand new blogger or even if you’ve been blogging for over a year.

When did you start your blog?
I started this blog on December 28th, 2011.  Yay for 1.5 weeks already! =D

Why did you start your blog?
I decided to start a book blog because I have many reading goals for 2012, so why not start a blog dedicated to just books so that I can review all of the books I will read this year.

What has been the biggest challenge you have faced this far?
Getting my blog to look the way I want it.  It took many hours to get it right, and for now I am happy with it.  Finally.  =P

What do you find most discouraging about being a new blogger?
When I just can’t figure out how to do certain things on blogger, but I am trying to teach myself.

What do you find most encouraging?
Each and every time I get a new comment and a new follower.  It is the most encouraging thing for a new blogger.

What do you like best about the blogs you read?  Have you tried to replicate this in your blog?
I love the individual designs.  I just really enjoy looking at each blogger’s designs.  And I have looked at how bloggers organize their book reviews to find a way that I would like to organize mine.

What do you dislike about blogs you’ve read?  Do you try to avoid this?
The blogs that don’t post pictures of the covers of books, or the reviews that don’t really give you much other than “I really liked it! It was great.”  I like more info, so I try and give more info (without spoiling too much)

Any advice for other new bloggers?
Keep reading and writing, even when it feels like no one is reading your posts.  Because people will.  And get involved with weekly Memes, because that is how you will meet new bloggers and get new followers.  =)

Any questions you’d like to ask newbie or established bloggers?
How do you format html scrolling boxes under buttons?  I cannot figure that out! LOL.

Is there anything you’d like to tell us about your blog?  Feel free to link a few of your favorite posts or posts you wish had more comments.
My blog reviews a little bit of everything, from Middle Grade to YA to adult fiction to nonfiction.  So be prepared for a lot of reviews for a lot of different genres.

Feel free to go and read a couple of my reviews and let me know if you want more information or if I am doing okay on what I am posting.

Thanks!

Love and Krispy Kreme,
Jennifer
