Today’s Question is:
This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother’s Day. In celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?
Because of my Family Studies background, I tend to fall in love with books that showcase strong familial bonds, especially between mother and child. The first one off the top of my head would have to be The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Such a beautiful depiction of how a foster parent is a mother, too, because she can love someone else’s child like she were her own. Incredibly beautiful. And I would have to include A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini because the women in this novel, though not related, form a mother-daughter bond that is beyond words.
