Top Ten Tuesday! (14)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme create at The Broke and the Bookish.
Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is:

Top Ten Authors I’d Like to See on Reality TV (and the show)!!

Bahaha this is definitely an interesting one!

I must admit…I am a complete Reality TV watcher.  I watch everything from Dancing with the Stars to the Bachelor/Bachelorette to The Amazing Race to Survivor to Fashion Star to Storage Wars (and the list goes on).

Because Dystopia/Post-Apocalyptic literature is being published left and right, I REALLY want to play SURVIVOR!

So here are my authors, all stranded on the same beach, trying to build a camp together.

1.  Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky)–smarteye
2.  Dan Wells (Partials)–cure for babies
3.  Veronica Roth (Divergent)–gun
4.  Megan Crewe (The Way We Fall)–journal
5.  Andrew Fukuda (The Hunt)–fake fangs
6.  Marissa Meyer (Cinder)–a too-small cyborg foot
7.  Scott Westerfeld (Uglies)–the board
8.  Michael Grant (Gone)–barrier
9.  Patrick Ness (The Knife of Never Letting Go)–mind-hearing
10.  Suzanne Collins (The Hunger Games)–bow and arrow

5 men, 5 women, all literary experts in surviving in crazy environments.  But when left on an abandoned island with only one item (from their books, duh), it is a fight to Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast.  This is SURVIVOR!

As the contestants are working together to get camp organized, we begin to see who is already standing out from the rest.  Suzanne and VRoth are useful because of their hunting skills, so they can catch food.  But they are also a threat because they both have weapons.  Scott has found a pile of scrap metal that allows his board to float up to the top of the trees where he can gather fruit!  He has proven to be a survival asset, too.  While Dan can save all the babies, unfortunately there are no babies here, so that is not really useful lol.  But between him and Marissa, they have figured out how to build a fire (good thing too, because Marissa’s cyborg foot does NOTHING in this game!)  Andrew has the the capabilities to eat his meat raw, but the sight of meat makes him gag.  But his fake fangs make him an interesting character!

VRossi, Megan, Michael, and Patrick have different strategies.  Megan finds a comfy rock and writes all her feelings about what is going on in her journal.  Michael sets up his own barrier and sits in the middle, waiting out the game.  Patrick hears everything that everyone is thinking, so there are no secrets!  And VRossi put her smarteye in and went shopping in Paris instead.

So, the question is, who wins?

VRossi forgets she is playing a game, so she’s out.  Andrew and Marissa make it a couple of days before their usefulness runs thin and they are eliminated.  Patrick steals Megan’s journal, so Megan has lost her incite and finds herself out of the game.  Dan Wells realizes that his cure for babies won’t help him here and steals Suzanne’s bow and arrow, leading to Suzanne’s demise.  Scott decides to avoid the drama and hang on his flying board, but the charge dies, and he falls hard.  He is removed from the game for medical reasons.

Just Dan, VRoth, Patrick, and Michael are left.  Patrick knows that VRoth plans on using her gun to get Dan out of the game, so he partners with Dan and two-on-ones VRoth.  Bye bye VRoth.  The Patrick backstabs Dan, kicking him to the jury.

Only two are left.  Patrick, who can read all of Michael’s thoughts, and Michael, who is in a barrier.  Stalemate.  Goes to the vote.

And unanimosly, the eliminated contestants pick MICHAEL for his choice of item.  He was, in fact, unstoppable.

So there you have it.  The Sole Survivor of the Dystopia/Post-Apocalyptic Survivor Game is Michael Grant!

Thank you for watching!  Leave me a link to your reality show and I will come and visit!

Love and A Million Bucks,
Jennifer

This is a great post! I'm impressed with the creativity! I love reality shows as well, but couldn't come up with enough authors to make my top ten. Thanks for visiting and congrats to Michael Grant!Jennifer @ Feminist Fairy Tale Reviews
